At Painter for Hire, we're conscious of the impact painting has on the environment and not only recognize the benefits of eco-friendly practices but we also put them into action. All aspects of modern life affect the environment, from the fuel we put in our vehicles to the electricity we use to turn the lights on at night.

When it comes to implementing eco-friendly painting practices there are many steps we can take to reduce the risk and damages that are caused to our immediate environment. We feel it's part of our duty as painters to do what we can, when we can, where we can to equally utilize and promote eco-friendly painting practices.

Eco-friendly painting begins from the onset of every painting project:

Correctly calculating the optimal required amount of paint and painting application minimizes potential waste.
Latex based paint is becoming more and more viable for almost every application, by choosing latex based paint where applicable we reduce the impact of using alkyd/oil based paint. Furthermore, we are financially voting green to the paint manufacturers and promoting their continued technological advancement.
During the painting process we literally squeeze paint out of our tools, this practice not only reduces end result waste but also reduces environmental exposure and reduces overall paint costs.
Typically there is a bit of paint left over after most jobs, this paint is stored for future touch-ups, further applications or even given away to organizations in need.

A few of the products we use as painters are not so easily re-usable, coatings like epoxies and similar must be correctly disposed of to minimize the potential harm to our environment and our fragile ecological system. Many advancements have been made in paint product technology, hopefully in the not too distant future paint manufacturers will be able to produce products with results similar to these toxic coatings but with a significantly reduced environmental impact.
